This beat tape is a collection of beats that I've compiled over the past few months. "Revival" has a multitude of meanings. But in this case, it pertains to: Beats w/ gospel elements. Beats that were initially made a few years prior that I had decided to revisit, and approached them in a new way, subsequently resurrecting and giving them a modern feel. And also, beats that showcase me flipping/chopping popular & mainstream samples/artists.

Ultimately, this beat tape was just me "bringing shit back to life", if you will, hence "Revival".

There is something really special about this album. It's refreshing and different in the best of ways. sndtrk's sample selection is varied and eclectic and while the arrangements are minimal, it doesn't sound like it. The drums are abrasive and unpredictable and just a joy to listen to. The overall production is gritty but slick - such a lovely contradiction. This feels like "nu-boom bap", if there was such a thing? Underrated! Paul WH
